Limestone is typically formed over many years at the botom of oceans
or lakes from the accumulation of shells, bones, and other calcium
rich goods. It is essentially a dolmite stone, meaning, it shows
high resistance in freezing and thawing conditions.
Limestone comes in a variety of different colours and finishes and
is available in many shapes and sizes. It is typically used in bathrooms
for vanity tops, flooring, walls, shower stalls, and tub deck surrounds.
As Limestone is a more porous material compared to granite, we wouldn't
recommend it for a kitchen counter, but it does make a nice backsplash
in a kitchen application.
Travertine is a similar product to Limestone, essentially it is
the same product but just comes in a different range of colours,
but can be used in all the same applications.
